Background:
In 1872 in Hahoore, Germany, Rosina Lichkey composed a "Now orNever" letter and mailed it off to her intended, Leapol Simmerman in Illinois. His reply was "Now". When Rosina packed her trousseau trunk to sail across the Atlantic, she included her mother's recipe for fried apples. 110 years later, in Nebraska, Colorado, Arizona, Minnesota, Florida, Iowa, and California. Younger generations continue to prepare this revised version of the original recipe.
